Where do crappie go after they spawn?

Post-spawn crappie move from shallow spawning cover to slightly deeper structure — brush piles, dock pilings, and submerged timber in 8-15 feet of water. They suspend rather than relate tightly to bottom, and they move in schools. Vertical jigging or slow trolling small jigs locates schools efficiently.
