Q.Freshwater Species Behavior

Do bass bite during cold fronts?

A.

Bass typically slow down or stop feeding during the post-cold-front bluebird-sky high-pressure period. They tighten up to cover and bite reluctantly. Bites tend to come on slow, finesse presentations (drop shots, ned rigs, suspended jerkbaits) rather than aggressive moving baits. The day before a cold front, when pressure is dropping, often produces the most aggressive feeding.
