Q.Freshwater Species Behavior

Where do bass go in summer?

A.

Summer bass move to deeper water — typically 10-25 feet — to find cooler temperatures and oxygen as surface water heats above their preferred range. They hold near deep structure: ledges, points, brush piles, and the thermocline. Active feeding shifts to dawn, dusk, and night when surface water cools.

Find summer bass on humps, channel-edge structure, and deep brush. Drop shot rigs, big worms, deep-diving crankbaits, and Carolina rigs all produce. Spawn calendar pages cover seasonal pattern transitions.
