Q.Tides & Fishing
How do spring tides affect inshore fishing?
A.
Spring tides (around new and full moons) produce the largest tidal ranges and strongest current. Fishing during the moving-water phases of a spring tide can be exceptional because the increased flow concentrates bait aggressively. The trade-off: at peak high, water floods areas you can't fish; at peak low, areas you usually fish are dry.
Plan around the moving-water windows on spring tide days for the best feeding action. The first two hours of outgoing on a spring tide outproduce most other setups. Tide guide pages cover lunar tide timing.
