What water temperature is too cold for mahi?

Mahi-mahi feeding effectively shuts down below 70°F. They tolerate water in the high 60s briefly but won't stay there or feed actively. When water temperatures drop below 72°F at typical mahi depths, fish move toward warmer water, often deeper or offshore.
This is why mahi fishing collapses in fall as Atlantic water cools. They stay where 75°F+ water remains. SST threshold pages cover the lower bound for active feeding.
