Q.Fishing Gear & Tackle

What is braided line and what are its advantages?

A.

Braided line is woven from multiple strands of synthetic fiber, producing a thin-diameter line with very high tensile strength and zero stretch. Advantages: tiny diameter for given strength (allows long casts, more line on the spool), zero stretch for direct hookset feedback, abrasion resistance. Pair with fluorocarbon leader for stealth in clear water.

Common braid setups: 10-15 lb braid + 15-20 lb fluoro leader for inshore; 30-50 lb braid + 30-60 lb leader for offshore. Migration calendar pages cover species-specific fishing.
