Q.Fishing Gear & Tackle
What is a popping cork and how do I fish it?
A.
A popping cork is a hollow cork rigged on the main line above an 18-30 inch leader to a jig or live shrimp. When you pop the rod, the cork creates a clicking/popping sound that mimics shrimp. Fish home in on the noise and find the bait below. Wildly effective on speckled trout and redfish in grass flats and shallow structure.
