Yes, spawning fish bite — especially guarding males defending beds. Whether to target them is a personal/ethical question. Bass on beds will hit lures dropped on or near the bed but are often released quickly to minimize stress on the spawning event. Pre-spawn and post-spawn fishing windows produce comparable catch rates with less ethical concern.
