Moon phase affects offshore fishing primarily through tide range (full and new moons produce stronger currents) and through nighttime feeding patterns. Full-moon weeks see strong night feeding by tuna and swordfish; dark moons (new moons) often produce better daytime topwater action. The effect is real but smaller than SST and structure for finding fish.
